Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member to our practice. We will request that you complete our patient forms. These forms can be filled out in advance by downloading and printing them from the "Online forms" chioce in the "New Patient Center" tab. Two forms are required; the "New Patient Health History" and the "Terms of Accceptance". This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.
Next, you will have a consultation to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential care options. This initial visit is designed for the doctor to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.
After your consultation, we will perform a chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well. However, nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Depending on your condition, we may take x-rays. We use our own digital x-ray technology which minimizes your x-ray exposure while allowing for the highest quality images. X-rays help us develop the most effective care plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. People are amazed once they see their x-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.
Report of Findings
Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, Dr. Allen K. Arnold will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:
- How can you help me?
- How often do I need to come in?
- What will my chiropractic care cost?
After reviewing your health history, goals, and examining your spine and X-rays, Dr. Allen K. Arnold will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. Dr. Allen K. Arnold will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.
At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you can choose to experience your first chiropractic adjustment. This may include spinal adjustments to one or more problem areas. The chiropractic adjustment is interactive, so you can always feel free to express your thoughts and concerns about the different types of chiropractic adjusting procedures at anytime.
Supportive Care Programs
Prior to leaving, the doctors may suggest specific Supportive Care Programs for you to incorporate outside of your chiropractic care. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches.
